Lara Chiaverini

Director of Staff and Faculty Impact & Belonging

Vergnano Institute for Inclusion

Lara Chiaverini’s role supports staff and faculty through learning and action-oriented initiatives that advance equity, inclusion, and community across the College of Engineering and beyond. This work emphasizes diversity, equity, and inclusion in the STEM fields through innovative, evidence-based strategies that drive a commitment to centering equity in all learning and working spaces.

She works alongside staff and educators to embed inclusive principles and practices into course design and student engagement.

As a community builder, Lara is the creator and convener of programs and gatherings that offer space for faculty and staff to connect, collaborate, and cultivate a sense of belonging. Her work is grounded in the belief that inclusion is not just a value—but a daily practice that strengthens the entire UConn community.
