Pratt & Whitney Scholarship

Pratt & Whitney generously presents a competitive scholarship initiative tailored specifically for UConn Engineering students. Elevating academic pursuits, a $10,000 annual scholarship is dispersed over a four-year duration. Alongside, recipients are recommended to apply for a summer internship, engage in a sponsored senior design project, and take advantage of a variety of mentorship opportunities. Moreover, the program is committed to creating personalized professional development. Applicants must be College of Engineering students who demonstrate financial need.

Application and Prerequisites

The Pratt & Whitney Scholars Program Scholarship is designed to enhance accessibility to higher education for underrepresented students in UConn’s College of Engineering, by assisting students financially and professionally. This distinguished scholarship, totaling $10,000 annually, will be disbursed in two equal installments of $5,000 each, ensuring sustained support throughout the entirety of a student’s four-year degree at UConn. The program will also provide a competitive internship opportunity at Pratt & Whitney that awardees can take the summer after their sophomore year. The scholarship places a focus on those in the mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, and materials science and engineering fields. Maintenance of good academic standing is a prerequisite for scholarship, emphasizing the program’s goal of nurturing students’ education while supporting them financially.
